Our Committee sets the national vision and basic direction, and addresses in depth the formulation of mid- and long-term development plans and improvements to relevent laws and institutions, with the aim of charting a new milestone for the Republic of Korea to advance toward.

The Basic Society we aspire to is one that the State and society build together, ensuring every citizen — wherever they live, whatever their circumstances — can enjoy a basic standard of living. It goes beyond mere institutional adjustment; it is a national journey of transformation that substantively safeguards the dignity and worth of each individual.

Such profound change cannot be achieved by the Committee's efforts alone. At every step of policy formulation and implementation, I will listen attentively to the vivid voices of the public. I will engage in constant communication and close cooperation with the central government, local governments, civil society and other diverse societal actors to lay a solid foundation for a life of dignity that every citizen can feel.

I will devote my best efforts to making the Committee a force of tangible impact in the daily lives of our citizens. I ask for your warm interest and active support on the path the Presidential Committee on Universal Basic Society will walk.
